Hugo Lloris: 5

His presence helps the entire back four look more sturdy but he will be disappointed to have been beaten late on. The Frenchman should have done better.

Kieran Trippier: 5

A solid enough display from the Englishman, but he needs a stand out performance if he is to be deemed worthy of regular game time in the Premier League.

Toby Alderweireld: 6

The Belgian's ability on the ball is superb, but improvements can still be made in other aspects of his game. Not as convincing in regards to his decision making.

Jan Vertonghen: 5

A reliable presence for most of the game but guilty of a couple of reckless moments. Consistency is needed if he is to underpin this Spurs back line.

Danny Rose: 5

The Englishman is no longer first choice ahead of Davies and faces a struggle to win back his place. Pushed forward well, but lacked a consistent final ball. Did well to continue after picking up a nasty hand injury.

Dele Alli: 6

The youngster continues to go from strength to strength. He plays with an assured confidence and is not daunted by receiving the ball in tight areas, or taking on his opponent. An excellent asset that many will hope does not wane.

Eric Dier: 6

Knocking on the door for Roy Hodgson's England squad probably should have paid off, the defender-come-midfielder excelled once again.

Nacer Chadli: 5

A quiet night for the Belgian, who struggled to make a significant impact.

Christian Eriksen: 5

The Dane was not at his best. He is yet to fire on all cylinders after returning from injury and has not been able to provide the incisive edge that has been crucial to Tottenham in the past. Needs time; he will return to form.

Erik Lamela: 7

The Argentine will never score an easier goal; his strike was on a plate, but he deserved it. Ran for the team all day but ran out of steam and was withdrawn.

Harry Kane: 5

The striker missed a couple of decent chances but his work rate could not be faulted. Looked tired towards the end and lacked the edge that defined his performances last season.

Substitutes

Clinton N'Jie: 5

Still easing himself into Spurs' side. Enjoyed a couple of decent interchanges but would have been sent clear by Kane if he had held his run.

Andros Townsend: 5

Full of running, as usual, and eclipsed Chaldi in regards to effort.
