Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes Leicester City midfielder N'Golo Kante was one of the best players in the Premier League this season amid suggestions the Gunners are keeping close tabs on the Frenchman.
Kante has enjoyed a superb season at the King Power Stadium since sealing a transfer from French side Caen last summer, and has played in all but one of the Foxes' 36 Premier League games - with his performances in the middle of the park proving important in the club winning their first-ever top-flight title this week.
Arsenal are believed to be one of several clubs interested in the 25-year-old, although Leicester vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said this week the Foxes are under no pressure to sell their stars this summer.
That hasn't stopped Wenger from lavishing praise on Kante, however, with the Gunners boss saying the Leicester midfielder is one of his stand-out players this season.
"I think he will play in the European Championships and, for me, he was one of the players of the year in the Premier League," Wenger said.
When then asked whether Arsenal are keen to sign Kante, Wenger said: "I cannot tell you anything now. He is under contract with Leicester. I am sure if Leicester want to sell him, they will find some buyers."
