Neil Warnock slams FA over Joey Barton

Neil Warnock said today it was "scandalous" that the Football Association rejected Joey Barton's appeal against a red card.

Queens Park Rangers skipper Barton claimed Norwich's Bradley Johnson conned referee Neil Swarbrick into sending him off for an alleged head-butt on Monday.

Warnock compared Barton's treatment to that of Chelsea's Frank Lampard, who dodged a red card for a hefty challenge at Wolves.

"I just think it is scandalous but I am not surprised," said the Rangers boss. "Am I surprised Frank Lampard commits a horrendous challenge and he gets a booking? If that had been Joey, [Karl] Henry or any Tom, Dick and Harry, would that have been a red card or a yellow one?"
