Celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan was left "fuming" after David Beckham criticised Gunners fans' Arsene Wenger protest.

The north Londoners were knocked out of the FA Cup by Watford on Sunday afternoon and Wenger's position at the Emirates has been called into question by some sections of the club's fan base.

Wenger has been in charge of Arsenal for 19 years but the club are set to end the season empty handed after a poor run of form.

Beckham threw his support behind Wenger earlier today when he responded to an Instagram post which asked whether a banner telling the Frenchman to leave Arsenal was disrespectful or truthful.

The former England captain branded the supporter's sign "disgraceful" and accused fans of attention seeking, which caused Morgan to label Beckham a "jumped-up tattooed twerp" for "attacking Arsenal fans."

Morgan posted a series of Tweets on the matter and claimed Arsenal supporters are "perfectly entitled" to air their views on Wenger's position as he believes fans represent the "only true loyalty" left in the sport.

The Gunners have won just two of their last nine Premier League fixtures and are currently languishing in third place.

Arsenal travel to Barcelona to face Luis Enrique's side in the Champions League on Wednesday night but must overturn a two-goal deficit if they are to progress to the quarter-finals.
