Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has admitted that he's "worried" about his job after a surprise 2-1 defeat to newly-promoted Norwich this afternoon.

Cameron Jerome and Alex Tettey found the net for the Canaries while Anthony Martial's strike proved to be little more than a consolation for the hosts.

Boos rang out around Old Trafford at full time as the Red Devils' winless streak was extended to six games and it cannot be denied that the pressure on Van Gal's shoulders is building.

The Dutchman's style of play has been fiercely criticised this season and while positive results kept the wolves at the door earlier in the campaign, his role at the Theatre of Dreams is firmly on the agenda now that they have dried up.

The 64-year-old signed a three-year deal when he succeeded David Moyes last summer but fans' confidence in his ability to lead the club forward appears to be on the slide.

Is he still the right man for United? Or is a change at the top needed if the Red Devils are to return to their perch?

Could the likes of Jose Mourinho do a better job? Or should supporters be patient and give Van Gaal more time to turn the clubs fortunes around?

Have your say on whether Van Gaal should be sacked or not in Standard Sport's poll:
