N’Golo Kante says he does not feel like he is the best player in the Premier League.

The France international has been heralded as the signing of the season after his industrious performance have helped Chelsea establish a ten-point lead at the top of the table.

The 25-year-old arrived from Leicester City last summer for £30million after playing a major role in the Foxes title success in the 2015-16 season, and has become one of the stars of Antonio Conte’s side.

Kante is widely tipped to be crowned the player of the season, but the midfielder offered a modest critique when quizzed by the French press.

Speaking after Saturday’s 2-1 victory at Stoke City, he told Telefoot, Kante said: "I'm flourishing, But I don't feel like the best player in the Premier League.

"There are a lot of good players. A lot of guys would deserve it on my team."

Chelsea require another 21 points from their ten remaining matches to be crowned Premier League champions, and Kante has urged his teammates not to spurn their lead at the top.

"We have to take the games one at a time," he added. "That's what everyone is thinking. We're in a good position but we can't let it go."
