QPR boss Harry Redknapp confirms interest in Tottenham's Emmanuel Adebayor

Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp today said he would love to take Tottenham’s Emmanuel Adebayor off his old club’s hands but admits his chances are slim.

Redknapp has already loaned Tom Carroll and Benoit Assou-Ekotto from Spurs but says it would be difficult to persuade the 29-year-old striker, who has been told to train with the reserves having fallen out of favour at White Hart Lane, to drop down to the Championship.

“He’d be a great loan,” said Redknapp. “But it’s up to Tottenham, they have lots of good players. He can’t go on loan in the Premier League, he can only go into the Championship but whether he’d want to do that — it would be difficult.”
