Queens Park Rangers face stiff competition from several clubs to sign Chelsea’s talented defender Tomas Kalas on loan.
Kalas is going to be recalled early from a season-long agreement at Bundesliga side Cologne having not made a single appearance for the first team.
Chelsea want him to move elsewhere in January and QPR, who have the most porous defence in the Premier League after conceding 23 goals in 12 games, have made an enquiry.
But the 21-year-old’s agent has revealed several other teams in this country and in Holland, one of which is believed to be Chelsea’s unofficial feeder club Vitesse Arnhem, are also in the hunt.
Kalas’s agent Viktor Kolar said: “We have been negotiating the situation surrounding Kalas and there are a number of options in the UK and the Netherlands. One of them is QPR.
“We want Tomas to play regularly and would like to have his future sorted out before the start of the transfer window, so that the matter is concluded for all parties concerned.”
Kalas, whose Chelsea contract expires in 2017, has been at Stamford Bridge since joining from SK Sigma Olomouc in 2010 but it took until last season for him to finally make his senior debut as a late substitute against Arsenal in the Capital One Cup.
Rangers currently have an ageing group of defenders to choose from with Richard Dunne, Clint Hill and Rio Ferdinand, who has struggled to make an impact since joining from Manchester United, in the squad.
