QPR vs Fulham: Slavisa Jokanovic calls for cool heads in west London derby

Fulham head coach Slavisa Jokanovic has warned his players to keep their emotions in check tonight after their fiery meeting with Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road last season.

Tempers flared during the 1-1 draw in January, and Jokanovic clashed with members of the Rangers coaching staff.

Fulham’s Tom Cairney was also fortunate to escape a red card after he and Chris Martin were involved in an off-the-ball incident with QPR defender Joel Lynch.

Jokanovic says it is important that the visitors maintain their discipline in what is bound to be a highly-charged atmosphere.

"It is always important," he said.

"We know it is a west London derby and how important it is for us, for our supporters and all the people here at the club.

"It is important for us to be focused and be ready for everything that we are going to find during the game.

"QPR are physical, very strong, and we are going to find many challenges.

"From our side, like always, we are going to try and dominate the chances, take the risks, be brave and look for three points.

"We completely understand how important these kind of games are.

"I know what they [the fans] expect from us for this game.

"We must be motivated, we must show ambition and do everything to win the game."

Fulham will again be without captain Cairney tonight, but Jokanovic hopes the midfielder will be fit to return from his knee injury after the international break.

“We are hoping he will be available for the game against Preston,” he said.
