Richard Dunne issues warning to James Milner

Warning: James Milner wants to join Manchester City
11 April 2012

Richard Dunne has warned James Milner that moving to Manchester City may leave him frustrated on the sidelines.

The Aston Villa captain left City last summer and was an instant hit at his new club.

Martin O'Neill revealed yesterday that Milner wants to move to City but Dunne, speaking from their pre-season training camp in Ireland, feels it may not be right for the England international.

He said: "Obviously we will miss James because he has been brilliant but we have to move on. The manager will build again, I suppose. James will know that moving to a big club he will be part of a squad. At Aston Villa he would play every week but he may not at Manchester City."

Villa want more than the £24million that City have so far offered and Eastlands boss Roberto Mancini said they are prepared to wait to get their man.

"Milner is a good player," he added. "We would like to take him but we have to wait for now."
