Russell Slade: Forget the Gunners

Julian Bennetts11 April 2012

Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade has told his side to focus on beating Bristol Rovers tomorrow rather than Arsenal in the FA Cup.

Since being paired with the Gunners in the fifth round, Orient have drawn with League One top-two Brighton and Bournemouth and beaten Swindon 3-0.

Slade's side have now lost just once in 18 games and are seven points off the play-offs with a game in hand. And Slade says his players cannot afford to start thinking about taking on Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie a week on Sunday.

"They're not playing for the Arsenal game - they're only playing for their shirt for the Bristol Rovers game," said Slade. "People get carried away saying we've got a chance.

"Our results augur well for the next two games - but that is all that matters to us."
