Saido Berahino is in line for a recall over Christmas with West Brom braced for more interest from Tottenham.
The forward has been out of form since his club rejected four bids from Spurs in the summer and he has not started a game since October.
Salomon Rondon’s red card in Saturday’s defeat to Bournemouth means he is banned for the next three games, starting with the Boxing Day trip to Swansea. That could mean a return for Berahino, even though his focus may not be 100 per cent given that Spurs are ready to test West Brom’s resolve again.
“Given the way Berahino has trained in the last couple of days, given the opportunity, hopefully he can show what he can do,” said West Brom manager Tony Pulis. “With two games in three days we’ll rotate the squad.”
