Tottenham defender Ben Davies expects to miss the next "couple of weeks" with an ankle injury.

Davies suffered the problem during the latter stages of Spurs' 1-0 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen last week and was subsequently ruled out of Wales' upcoming World Cup qualifier against Serbia.

But the injury could also see the 23-year-old miss crucial games for Mauricio Pochettino's side following the conclusion of the international break.

"It's not too good at the moment, I've just got to get ready," Davies said at the Football Association of Wales awards on Tuesday night, where he took to the stage in a protective boot.

"It will be a good couple of weeks after this one to get back fit, so I've just got to work hard."

Spurs are not in action until they host West Ham at White Hart Lane on November 19 before travelling to Chelsea a week later.

Pochettino's side also face a key Champions League clash against Monaco in between the two London derbies and Danny Rose could be the club's only fit left-back for all three games if Davies fails to recover in time.
