Arsenal sent chief scout Steve Rowley to watch Nottingham Forest centre-half Jamaal Lascelles on Saturday. The Gunners have been interested in the England Under-20 defender for some time and Rowley’s presence at Forest’s 1-1 draw with Bolton suggests a bid is imminent. (Daily Mirror)
United track teen talent Niguez
Manchester United are stepping up their efforts to sign attacking midfielder Saul Niguez. United coach saw Niguez help Rayo Vallecano beat Getafe 1-0 yesterday. Arsenal and Chelsea are also interested in the 19-year-old. (Various)
Germany calling for Holtby
German clubs are keen on bringing Lewis Holtby back to the Bundesliga. Holtby, 23, has failed to establish himself at Tottenham since joining from Schalke 12 months ago. His former club are showing an interest, as are Wolfsburg and Hannover 96. (Daily Mirror)
Vidic can cash in with Turks
Galatasaray will offer Nemanja Vidic a £3million-a-year three-season deal plus add-ons. The Manchester United captain is out of contract in the summer and the Turkish club hope to make a formal offer this week. (Daily Mail)
Michy will cost Everton £7m
Everton will have to pay £7m up front to sign forward Michy Batshuayi from Standard Liege. The club have been told Liege will not accept the fee in instalments. (Daily Mirror)
Kalou rules out January move
Salomon Kalou has ruled out leaving Lille this month, despite being linked with a return to England. The striker spent six years at Chelsea. (The Times)
Gomes is willing to head home
Heurelho Gomes is ready to return to a club in his Brazil homeland. Spurs’ third-choice keeper has not played for them since November 2011. (The Sun)
