Manchester United should sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, says Ryan Giggs

Manchester United should sign Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez in a summer squad overhaul, says Ryan Giggs.

Sanchez's future at the Emirates Stadium remains unresolved with a little over a year of his contract remaining despite the Gunners offering an extension worth £300,000 a week.

United look on course to miss out on the top four, along with Arsenal, and Giggs feels the winning pedigree the Chilean brings would work wonders at Old Trafford.

“[He's] a brilliant player. His work rate, the effect he has on his team-mates, a winner," Giggs is quoted as saying by the Manchester Evening News.

“He just looks how South Americans are, tough aren’t they."

When asked if Sanchez is a plausible transfer target for United and Jose Mourinho, Giggs said: "Yeah. Mourinho bought [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic because he is a winner.

"He’d won everywhere he’d gone. Not only the effect on the pitch but off the pitch as well.

"You can just feel that Sanchez would give his team-mates a lift."
