Charlton's Under-18 goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov has showcased his goal-scoring credentials with an incredible 95-yard strike against Coventry City.

The Addicks' junior stopper, who has recently returned to the club after a loan stint at Canvey Island, struck the ball sweetly first time from a back pass and his effort bounced once before skipping over his opposite number's head.

The goal turned out to be decisive as Charlton ran out victors 2-1 in a close encounter against the Sky Blues.

Charlton are now investigating whether the Bulgarian's goal eclipses the word record currently held by Asmir Begovic for the 'longest goal scored'.

Begovic's effort, back in 2013 against Southampton, travelled 91.9m, earning him a place in Footballing History, although it appears there may be a new contender for top spot.
