We all know how well Rio Ferdinand can perform on the ball, but now the QPR defender has taken to showing us his skills on the mic.

Footage has emerged of the 35-year-old MCing at Kieran Richardson’s 30th birthday party – the pair spent five years together at Manchester United.

The video was posted on Instagram by grime star Skepta, who was also at the party.

Ferdinand is joined by General Levy, another MC, in the video, which also shows Richardson visibly loving the beat.

You can judge Ferdinand’s rapping skills for yourself in Skepta’s Instagram post below.

The party will provided welcome respite from football for Ferdinand, who hasn’t enjoyed a particularly fruitful start to his QPR career after joining in the summer.

The centre-back has only been on the winning side once for Rangers – a 1-0 victory over Sunderland back in August – and his side currently sit bottom of the Premier League table.
