West Ham are closing in on the January loan signing of former Nigeria international Emmanuel Emenike.

It is thought the deal will involved an option to buy for £7million at the end of the season, but the Hammers are already lining up other offensive targets ahead of the summer.

Slaven Bilic has little room for manouevre this month, with a tight wage bill at West Ham, and has offloaded Matt Jarvis and Mauro Zarate to free space for arrivals, inluding Sam Byram, who joined last week.

As such, West Ham will do most of their planned business in the next transfer windoiw. Indeed, the club had planned to swoop for Byram in the summer before Everton's January bid forced them to act fast and hijack the transfer.
