West Ham midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate has won his appeal against a one-match suspension following his red card in the 5-1 FA Cup win at Blackburn on Sunday.

Referee Jon Moss sent off Kouyate for the foul which he decided had denied Blackburn’s Adam Henley a clear goal-scoring opportunity during the second half of Sunday’s FA Cup fifth-round tie at Ewood Park.

A statement on the FA'c official website read: "Cheikhou Kouyate's one-match suspension for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity has been withdrawn with immediate effect following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today [Tuesday 23 February 2016].

"West Ham United’s claim of wrongful dismissal in relation to their Emirates FA Cup fifth round proper tie against Blackburn Rovers on Sunday 21 February 2016 was upheld."

West Ham’s contention was that Blackburn's Henley had no chance of reaching the ball before it was gathered by goalkeeper Darren Randolph.

After the game, Slaven Bilic said: "From my position, I am not happy with that.

"I know the ball went to Randy, to our keeper, so it is definitely not a goalscoring opportunity. A foul? Okay."
