Wilfried Zaha: Beating Chelsea was a dream and the Crystal Palace fightback starts here

Wilfried Zaha says Crystal Palace's 2-1 win over champions Chelsea was "a dream" and believes it signals the start of their fightback.

Palace were without either a goal or a point in seven Premier League matches before Chelsea's visit, but were boosted by the return of Zaha ahead of kick-off on Saturday.

And while Roy Hodgson was welcoming back his star man from injury, Antonio Conte was coping with the absence of Alvaro Morata and N'Golo Kante.

Cesar Azpilicueta put through his own net to make matters worse for Conte and though Tiemoue Bakayoko's headed goal squared up the contest for a spell, an injury to Victor Moses was quickly followed by Zaha's winner.

The Ivory Coast international latched onto Mamadou Sakho's through ball and slotted past Thibaut Courtois to lift the mood around Selhurst Park.

"I'm so tired but it was all worth it for the win," he said. "We had to win! You never know in football - we had a gameplan, worked hard and just took our chances

"The first goal was massive for our confidence - it was a massive boost for the team. My goal was at the right time too, because Chelsea were coming back. I'm buzzing to have scored it.

"Me and Andros Townsend aren't strikers so we run all over the gaff, but the boss told us that if one had the ball the other needs to get himself into the box.

"It's a dream, managing to beat Chelsea at home. Deffo this is the start of a fightback - now we've got more confidence we can start to climb up the table."
