The jubilant supporters were captured swigging shots poured from a secret compartment in the binoculars during their country’s clash with Japan.
Lawyer Martin Santos, whose father Juan Manuel is the Colombian president, shared footage of the fans drinking on social media.
The clip has gone viral among World Cup fans across the world and caused a stir back home in the South American nation.
British journalist Carl Worswick, who lives in the capital Bogota, tweeted: “Colombia's Foreign Office has reminded fans to behave themselves while in Russia after a group of Colombian supporters used a pair of false binoculars to smuggle liquor into yesterday's Japan game.”
More than 65,000 World Cup tickets have been sold to Colombian fans making the country the fourth best represented team in Russia.
They are only outnumbered by Russia, the USA – who failed to even qualify – and Brazil.
Colombia lost 2-1 in the match with Japan after defender Carlos Sanchez was sent off for handball after fewer than five minutes. Their next game against Poland is at 7pm on Sunday.

It comes after football fans from Japan and Senegal were hailed for cleaning up their sections of the stands after the teams won their opening matches.
Footage of both sets of fans clearing up rubbish following their matches went viral online.
