It may look like a scene from Gulliver's Travels but this extraordinary picture demonstrates that footballers really can come in all shapes and sizes.

The image, taken during Belgium and France's 0-0 draw in Brussels on Wednesday, shows diminutive French playmaker Mathieu Valbuena (5ft 6in) looking to escape the attentions of his comparatively giant opponents Marouane Fellaini (6ft 5in) and Vincent Kompany (6ft 4in).
