Zlatan Ibrahimovic's arrival at LA Galaxy has been announced to the citizens of Los Angeles in typical Zlatan fashion - with a full page advert in a local newspaper.

Ibrahimovic had his contract at Manchester United terminated on Thursday as the striker moved closer to a move to MLS.

It was widely reported that the 36-year-old's club of choice in America was LA Galaxy, and it has now been confirmed via an advert in the Los Angeles Times.

Readers of the newspaper on Friday were treated to a largely blank page 38 which simply read: "Dear Los Angeles. You're welcome."

It was signed off by Ibrahimovic alongside his new shirt number, nine, and LA Galaxy's club crest.

Standard Sport understands the ad was taken out by LA Galaxy, not Ibrahimovic.

Ibrahimovic's move to MLS will see him play for the first time in America following a one-and-a-half-year stint at United where the Swede won the Europa League and EFL Cup.

Before that, he turned out for several clubs in Europe including Barcelona, Juventus, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. However, he failed to win the one trophy he had aimed for - the Champions League.

After moving to United in the summer of 2016, Ibrahimovic scored 28 goals in all competitions but suffered a serious knee injury last April, which cut short his debut campaign at Old Trafford.
