Freddie's plea to Vieira

14 April 2012

Freddie Ljungberg today urged Patrick Vieira to reject approaches from Real Madrid and make history at Arsenal.

The Premiership champions face losing their inspirational captain but Ljungberg believes he can convice him to stay at Highbury.

He said: "I haven't had the chance to speak to Patrick but none of us want to think about him leaving.

"If I have a message for him it's simple: let's stay together and build something really special here at Arsenal."

Real Madrid are confident that a £30million bid will force Arsenal to sell Vieira.
