Gardner says battered Quins can tough it out

13 April 2012

Mat Gardner believes Harlequins RL's work ethic will help them bounce back from their 40-12 trouncing at the hands of Wigan.

Quins shipped three tries in the opening 12 minutes in that match but Gardner insists they can handle thirdplaced Huddersfield on Saturday.

"We're one of the tougher teams in Super League this year," he said. "Our coach, Brian McDermott, is a tough bloke and he's trying to instil that in us."

Centre David Howell starts a three-match suspension following his red card at Wigan but Ryan Esders could make his debut after joining on loan from Hull KR.
