Harlequins lifted by news of Sale injury crisis

Injury crisis: Sale's director of rugby Philippe Saint-Andre has real problem in the backs

Harlequins' bid for a Premiership play-off place has been boosted by the news that Sunday's opponents Sale have been hit by an injury crisis.

Quins occupy the fourth and final play-off spot with two matches to go but reigning champions Sale are only one point behind. They meet at The Stoop, with Quins fresh from a weekend off but Sale are still counting the cost of their European Challenge Cup semi-final defeat by Bath last weekend.

Sale director of rugby Philippe Saint-Andre said: "We have a real problem in the backs where we have Lee Thomas banned for 14 weeks [for punching] and Rudi Keil, Steve Hanley, Rory Lamont, Mark Cueto and Oriol Ripol all injured."
