Hoddle's high hopes for Ziege

13 April 2012

Tottenham manager Glenn Hoddle is convinced he can revive Christian Ziege's international career.

Ziege, who joined in a £4 million deal from Liverpool, made his debut in Saturday's 2-1 win at Wycombe and Hoddle believes he can restore Ziege to Germany's line-up in time for next year's World Cup Finals.

He said: "Three years ago Christian was probably the world's best wing-back, so he has a lot to prove to the public and probably, to himself as well.

"The English fans have not seen the best of Christian yet, but I know the quality he's got. He also has a major incentive with the World Cup coming up to get back in the German team."
