Fired up: Shrewsbury Town's Connor Goldson
Jochan Embley28 October 2014

Shrewsbury Town are in fine form and confident of taking on Premier League leaders Chelsea.

The League Two outfit will welcome Jose Mourinho’s side to New Meadow for their Capital One Cup clash on Tuesday night, with 72 league places separating the two teams.

But coming off the back of four straight wins, in which Shrewsbury netted 11 times, and only three points off the League leaders, defender Connor Goldson is confident his team can give a good account of themselves against Chelsea.

“This is what football is all about,” stand-in captain Goldson said. “We are bringing the best team in Britain here and they are coming with probably the best manager in the world.

“It’s a tie that the whole and the whole town are looking forward too.

“We will have a full house here. That’s the biggest thing for us.

“We will have a full house supporting us and we cannot wait.

“It’s absolutely great that we are going into the game on the back of four straight wins.

“We can just go into it, relax and enjoy our football.”
