Jewell admits Ellington interest

12 April 2012

Wigan manager Paul Jewell has refused to rule out bringing West Brom striker Nathan Ellington back to the JJB Stadium.

Ellington has failed to settle with the Championship club and is again being strongly linked with a return to Wigan, where he scored 67 goals over three seasons whilst working with Jewell.

The Latics boss, who is keen to sign "at least one striker" in the transfer window, said: "Nathan is obviously a player I admire. He did well when he was here and he had some good times. But it would be disrespectful for me to talk about buying one of their players. If it happens it will be between me and their manager."

With leading scorer Henri Camara out until the end of next month, and with goals in short supply, Jewell needs a proven marksman.
