Kelly Holmes flew past me like a gazelle! Danny Mills on finishing the London Marathon

Richard Parry24 April 2016

Former Charlton Athletic and England defender Danny Mills completed the London Marathon in three hours, 14 minutes and 50 seconds.

The 38-year-old now works as a Sports pundit for the BBC, wore a replica 1966 England World Cup shirt as he raised money for the Bobby Moore Fund, a partner charity for the Cancer Research.

Speaking after the race, Mills admitted that he was delighted with his finishing time – although he could not keep pace with double Olympic gold medallist Dame Kelly Holmes.

“Kelly Holmes came past me at about 22 miles like she was running [the] 800 metres!” he told London Live.
