Khan sparks new interest

Amir Khan's silver medal at the Games has fired interest in British amateur boxing with youngsters flocking to gyms around the country.

Terry Edwards, the coach who guided 17-year-old Khan through to the lightweight final, said: "I've been told youngsters are phoning the Amateur Boxing Association asking for the address of their nearest club."

Ian McGovern, a coach at Bury Boxing Club where Khan did much of his formative grounding, said: "The phone has been ringing constantly. Lads have been inspired by Amir."
