Kiwi cricketers go home

Four New Zealand cricketers have opted out of next week's tour to Pakistan because of safety fears.

New Zealand Cricket have also received a threat concerning the security of the team should they go ahead with the five-match one-day international series, due to begin in Faisalabad on 22 November.

Batsmen Craig McMillan and Lou Vincent, all-rounder Scott Styris and fast bowler Ian Butler are the players to pull out of the trip. The team's video analyst, Zach Hitchcock, is also returning home after the one-day tournament in India ends this weekend.

NZC chief executive Martin Snedden said: "We are consulting with the Pakistanis."
