Koppel's warning to Wimbledon

13 April 2012

Wimbledon chairman Charles Koppel claims the club could fold if it is not allowed to move to Milton Keynes.

The Football Association will decide if he can move the First Division club more than 50 miles away from its south London roots towards the Midlands this summer.

But Koppel says its conclusion could decide whether they survive after ITV Digital's collapse introduced the prospect of their £20,000-a-day losses increasing.

He said: "If it rejects our proposal we will have to look at the club's future. It'll be up to the administrator to decide whether the club is financially viable.

"He may decide there's no option but to liquidate."
