Leslie boys return to face French

The Leslie brothers return for Scotland at Murrayfield tomorrow hoping to stop France storming on towards the first Grand Slam of the Six Nations.

John, at 31 the older brother by 11 months, replaces Andrew Henderson in midfield with Martin restored to the back row vacancy caused by Jason White's switch to lock. White takes over from Stuart Grimes, dropped to the bench after the 43-22 beating in Ireland. 'Andrew will benefit from the rest,' said Scotland coach Ian McGeechan. 'He's played a lot of rugby in the last 12 months.' Gregor Townsend's 65th cap equals the Scottish record held by Scott Hastings, who can only hope that history is about to repeat itself. The younger Hastings played in two of the three home wins with which the Scots scuppered French Grand Slams during the Eighties.

SCOTLAND: B Laney; C Paterson, J McLaren, J Leslie, G Metcalfe; G Townsend, B Redpath (capt); T Smith, G Bulloch, M Stewart; S Murray, J White; M Leslie, S Taylor, B Pountney. Subs: G Graham, R Russell, S Grimes, J Petrie, G Beveridge, D Hodge, K Logan.
