London Knights begin play-offs with victory

13 April 2012

London Knights opened their defence of the Sekonda Superleague play-off championship with a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Panthers.

London came away triumphant again thanks to powerplay goals from Rich Bronilla and Mark Dutiaume.

David Struch replied for Panthers, who booked their place in the post season series with a dramatic final day victory over Newcastle Jesters.

Bracknell Bees continued their jinx over Manchester Storm to make a winning start to their Group B campaign.

A Joe Cardarelli double put the Bees ahead after Barrie Moore had opened the scoring for Manchester - without a win in Bracknell since December 1998 - on the powerplay.

Jason Mansoff clinched a 3-1 victory for Bracknell, who beat Storm for the seventh successive time this term having completed a clean sweep of wins in the regular season.
