Midfield boost for McClaren

14 April 2012

Injury-hit Middlesbrough have Boudewijn Zenden and Ray Parlour back in the squad for tonight's UEFA Cup tie with Austrian champions AK Graz.

Both midfielders were suspended for Saturday's 0-0 draw with Bolton but are available to play in the first leg of the tie at the Arnold Schwarzenegger Stadium.

Centre-back Colin Cooper has recovered from his knee injury and is also in the squad as the competition reverts to a knockout format with 32 teams remaining.

However, Middlesbrough manager Steve McClaren is still without five key players through injury - strikers Mark Viduka and Malcolm Christie, midfielders Gaizka Mendieta and George Boateng plus defender Ugo Ehiogu.
