Moreno interested in Premier move

12 April 2012

Bolivia striker Marcelo Moreno has spoken of his delight at being linked with a move to Tottenham.

The 20-year-old claims Spurs are keen on his services, with reports a formal bid has been rejected.

"I was told about the offer made by Tottenham," said Moreno.

"Of course I would like to play in England, but as I said before I have to like the place where I will be.

"The club has to get to an agreement with my agent and from what I know what has been offered wasn't enough.

"I would like to play in an important league."

Meanwhile, Croatia coach Slaven Bilic believes Luka Modric will prove to be the "star" of Spurs' side next season.

The 22-year-old is set for a £15.8million switch to White Hart Lane from Dinamo Zagreb after the European Championships.

Chelsea were also reported to also be in the hunt for the highly-rated midfielder, but former West Ham and Everton defender Bilic reckons a link-up with Juande Ramos will suit him best.

"Tottenham is perfect for Luka," said Bilic. "Certainly better than, for example, Chelsea where he may have landed on the bench."
