N'Zogbia deal set to be sealed

12 April 2012

Charles N'Zogbia's move to Wigan is likely to go through in the next few days, with Ryan Taylor moving in the opposite direction to Newcastle.

Magpies midfielder N'Zogbia insisted on Thursday he will not play for the club again while Joe Kinnear is manager - after claiming the United boss insulted him by mis-pronouncing his name.

He had been linked with a move to France or even Arsenal recently. But it emerged on Friday Wigan is his most likely destination, in a part exchange with Latics full-back Taylor.

The exact fee is unknown at the moment, but the transfers are likely to go through before the close of play on Monday.

N'Zogbia, 22, effectively went on strike at the "insult" of Kinnear mis-pronouncing his surname as "insomnia" during a television interview.
