Now Barca target Wenger - and they're even prepared to wait a year

13 April 2012

Barcelona are closing in on Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger after clinching the £16m signature of Thierry Henry. Although Henry has urged Wenger to stay in London, reports in the Daily Star suggest Barca have already offered the Nou Camp job to the Frenchman and it's a matter of when and not if he takes them up on it.

Wenger is desperate for Champions League success and believes his best chance would be with the Catalans and his 11-year spell in charge at Arsenal could even end before the start of next season.

The Daily Star also reports that Barcelona are even prepared to wait until Wenger's contract ends at the end of next season before taking him on.

Since losing their La Liga title to Real Madrid, Barca bosses have decided to dispense with manager Frank Rijkaard who has been in charge four years.
