Phil Mickelson is back in the world’s top 10 for the first time since last May after his victory at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

Mickelson, who just missed out on a 59 in the opening round, finished four clear of Brandt Snedeker and improves from 22nd to 10th on the rankings, while Snedeker, also runner-up to Tiger Woods at Torrey Pines a week earlier, is up to a career-high sixth.

Rory McIlroy stays at the top of the rankings, while Scotland’s Stephen Gallacher leaps from 111th to 60th after winning the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.
