Owen back to his best for Liverpool

Michael Owen responded to doubts about his form with a brilliant strike in Liverpool's 4-2 UEFA Cup victory in Bulgaria.

The England striker ended Levski Sofia's hopes of clawing back a 2-0 first leg deficit after Steven Gerrard scored the opener.

Sofia levelled but Dietmar Hamann and Sami Hyypia ensured a 6-2 aggregate win and place in today's fourth round draw.

Manager Gerard Houllier said: "Michael had an outstanding game. He created chances for others, as well as himself. He was not just the star man he was the star team player too."
