Perry seals last gasp win for Bath

A last-minute drop goal from Matt Perry gave Bath their first win of the Zurich Premiership season against Sale and eased some of the pressure on home coach Jon Callard.

The visitors looked to have grabbed an unlikely draw when Charlie Hodgson converted winger Mark Cueto's second try a minute earlier. But up popped Perry to seal a dramatic 20-17 victory.

Sale prop Kevin Yates was given a predictably hot reception on his return to the Recreation Ground and a high tackle on Mike Catt brought him a yellow card and prompted a furious reaction from the crowd.

Yates said: 'The referee saw what happened and it wasn't malicious.'
