Pulis still keen on Ledley

12 April 2012

Tony Pulis has admitted Stoke "will take another look" at Joe Ledley with the Wales international midfielder likely to leave Cardiff this summer.

Ledley is out of contract next June and has recently turned down the chance to pen new terms, indicating he would wish to leave if the right club came in.

The Stoke boss told the South Wales Echo: "We will take another look at it and if it feels right for us then I will be speaking to (manager) Dave (Jones) about it before anyone else."

The 22-year-old Bluebirds captain, who has always stressed his desire to play in the Barclays Premier League, was the target of a £6million bid from the Potters last summer but the Welsh club rejected the offer.

Cardiff, who risk losing him in a year's time for a fraction of the fee they could attract now, have stated that if their valuation is met then Ledley can leave, and Pulis is mulling over another bid.

Pulis added: "We came in and made an offer (last summer) and we thought it was a great offer for Joe to be honest. But Cardiff did not want to sell him and credit to Dave (Jones) and Peter (Ridsdale) for that.

"If I am going to do any business with Cardiff this summer I will be doing it with Dave and Peter. I won't be doing things through the newspapers."
