Redknapp satisfied with Spurs signings

12 April 2012

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has declared himself happy with his transfer dealings.

Robbie Keane completed his return to White Hart Lane from Liverpool on Monday, for an initial fee of £12million, following the arrivals of goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini, midfielder Wilson Palacios and striker Jermain Defoe.

Redknapp said of Keane on Sky Sports News: "People make decisions in their life and his move to Liverpool didn't work out. But we're pleased to have him back. The chairman (Daniel Levy) worked hard to keep him in the first place and to bring him back."

He added: "It was difficult for Robbie. Liverpool are such a strong side going well in the league it was hard for him to break in regularly.

"We're delighted he's here - and it's the same with Cudicini and Palacios. They are good signings and I'm very pleased with the work we've done."

Defoe was on Monday ruled out for up to 10 weeks with a stress fracture to his right foot.

Redknapp continued: "Jermain is a blow to us - he started well (since returning from Portsmouth) and got three goals.

"He was sure to score plenty more before the end of the season so we needed to get someone in and in Robbie we couldn't have got anyone better."
