RFU reveal Worsley knee injury

Joe Worsley tore medial ligaments in his right knee in the opening minute of England's 19-6 defeat to New Zealand on Saturday.

The Wasps flanker went down awkwardly in a tackle and had to be replaced by Leicester's Tom Croft and he is to undergo a scan over the next 24 hours which will determine how long he will be sidelined for.

The Rugby Football Union announced in a statement: "Further to an assessment and review by the England medical team and consultation with the London Wasps medics, it can be confirmed that Joe Worsley tore medial ligaments in his right knee during the Investec Challenge England v New Zealand Test match."

The statement continued: "Joe will have a scan over the next 24 hours. Once this has been completed a further announcement will be made regarding the length of time that Joe will be unavailable."
