Rusedski looks forward to Ivanisevic clash

13 April 2012

Greg Rusedski is expecting a close contest when he goes head-to-head with wild card Goran Ivanisevic for a place in the quarter-finals.

The British number two booked his place in the last 16 with an impressive straight sets win over eighth seed Juan Carlos Ferrero.

If Rusedski can get by Ivanisevic, a three-time Wimbledon finalist, his side of the draw looks wide open to the semi-finals.

"I'm really looking forward to it," the British number two said.

"I've played him eight or nine times. I've had a total of about 15 match points but never got over the hurdle.

"I'm pleased to see him playing well because he's good for the game. He brings a lot of people to watch. He's a personality. I think it's going to be a great match. It's always tight, usually 7-6 in the third, a long four or five set match.

"He's come up with a lot of aces against me on big points."

The second half of the fourth-round line-up will be completed today with 10 of the 16 seeds remaining in the draw.

Fifth seed Lleyton Hewitt is first on Centre Court at 1pm against Morocco's Younes El Aynaoui, with third seed and fellow Australian Pat Rafter also facing Moroccan opposition in 27th seed Hicham Arazi.

Number two seed Andre Agassi must wait until the third match on Court One to take on Nicolas Massu of Chile, while Yevgeny Kafelnikov takes on Guillermo Canas of Argentina in the first match on Court Two.

An all-French clash on court three sees Nicolas Escude play Australian and French Open semi-finalist Sebastien Grosjean, with a third Frenchman in Fabrice Santoro taking on a real dark horse in the shape of Russian Mikhail Youzhny.
