Sharp foiled in Mason bid

Hull coach Peter Sharp made his way back from Australia holding out little hope that Canterbury Bulldogs forward Willie Mason will join him next season.

Sharp has made an offer to Mason but the odds are against him snaring the 27-year-old following his imminent departure from the NRL club.

He said: "It was worth a shot. You never give up hope but, realistically, it's not going to happen."
