Singh on song in WorldCom Classic
Vijay Singh fired a six-under-par 65 to claim a share of the first-round lead at the WorldCom Classic at Hilton Head Island in South Carolina.
The Fijian fired a bogey-free round to finish alongside American duo Doug Dunakey and Billy Mayfair, who both registered seven birdies and one bogey.
One shot back in a group of nine were Tommy Armour, Greg Chalmers, Rocco Mediate, Dudley Hart, Tom Lehman, Brad Elder, Mark Calcavecchia, Billy Andrade and Mark Brooks.
Sweden's Jesper Parnevik led a strong European challenge on three under in joint 21st.
