Smith hits out at club

14 April 2012

Alan Smith has hit out at Leeds for hiring an agent to explore the possibility of selling off some of their star players and insisted he will not be forced into a move he doesn't want.

Birmingham are the latest club to be linked with a move for the £8million-rated England striker but Smith insists he will not be treated like a mere commodity.

He said: "Everyone knows I love this club and yet it seems they have appointed an agent to sell me somewhere I might not want to go.

"This doesn't just affect me, there are other players in the same position who are just as disappointed.

"If I have to leave - and that is not certain - it will be to a club of my choice not theirs."

Leeds chairman Gerald Krasner said: "We obviously cannot do anything until the end of the season with regard to the players."
