Abi Oyepitan has fought back from a career threatening stress fracture following Athens 2004 to qualify for the 200m in London. Here are her vital statistics.

Sport: 200m

1. She won her first AAA under 17 gold medal in 1996.

2. Her appearance in the 200m final in Athens 2004 was the first sprint final to feature a British woman for 20 years.

3. She was also the only Briton to feature in a sprint final during the 2004 Olympics, all of the men failed for the first time in 28 years.

4. After the Olympics she suffered a stress fracture and injury hampered her career for the next few years.

5. In her heat she finished ahead of highly-rated Jamaican Sherone Simpson.

6. She is a Politics and Sociology Graduate from Brunel and did a Masters at City University.

7. She was part of the 4x100m relay team that won bronze at the 2002 Commonwealth Games.

8. Her athletics club is Shaftsbury Barnet Harriers.

9. Her injuries meant that she did not find the form to qualify for Beijing 2008.

10. At 32 this will be the last Games of her career.
